It is a form of energy work, where the practitioner channels the Reiki energy and gently places their hands on the client (fully clothed), and then the client pulls the Reiki energy into their body.

Breaking down the word, “Rei” stands for “universal”, or “spiritual wisdom,” and “ki” stands for “universal life force energy” – also known as Qi, Chi, Prana, or biofield energy. 

Reiki was discovered in the 1920’s by Mikao Usui in Japan. Since then, it has expanded world-wide as a spiritual practice and healing technique.
